Adult Language Courses and Special Interest Classes

WINTER SESSION: JANUARY 9 - MARCH 17, 2012

SPRING SESSION: MARCH 19 - MAY 25, 2012

Classes are offered once a week in 5 or 10 week sessions. Tuition varies accordingly. See our CLASS SCHEDULE  for details, but please note that not all classes will be offered each session.

Private tutoring is available at $45 per hour, $50 for two people.

If you wish to enroll in a class, please fill out the registration form and mail it with your check to the Alliance.

Types of Courses:

  • Courses with textbook and audiovisual material (10 weeks). We offer Beginner through Advanced levels.
  • Special Interest classes (10 or 5 weeks) with variable subjects such as literature, travel, conversation, writing, grammar,  etc.  See below for more details.

 

WINTER 2012 session offers:

Our regular 10 week language courses PLUS special interest classes of 5 and 10 weeks duration

5 weeks

  • Travel: practical situations for travel in a French-speaking country. Beginner level.
  • Variétés: a chance to practice in a relaxed atmosphere. Intermediate.
  • Literature Conversation: read and discuss literary works. Advanced level.
  • Conv/Grammar: conversation and discussion of short articles, combined with some grammar revision. Intermediate/advanced.

10 weeks

  • Literary study/discussion: study of short literary excerpts. Intermediate level.
  • Rhapsodie: Discussion of French & European news and culture. Advanced level.
  • Grammar/conversation/literature: review and discussion of literary work. Advanced level.

 

Tuition Fees

Fees for classes may not be pro-rated due to student's absence. Please note that this policy will only be revised in exceptional circumstances.

10-week Session

  • Continuing students from previous session: $190 ($360 for couple or 2 classes)
  • All other students: $210 ($400 for couple or 2 classes)

5-week Session

  • Continuing students from FALL session: $110 ($210 for couple or two classes)
  • All other students: $120 ($230 for couple or 2 classes)
  • There is a $20 additional charge per person per 10-week class, and $10 per person per 5-week class, if we receive your enrollment fee less than 10 days before the start of class.

Additional cost for books and/or hand-outs in some courses.

If you are not already an Alliance Française member, please add $20 additional membership.

Please be aware that some classes fill quickly, so to assure a place, you should make payment early.
