When Juliette Fontaine (Thomas) is released from prison after serving a fifteen-year sentence, her younger sister Léa (Zylberstein) invites her to stay with her family - including her husband Luc, his mute father Papy Paul, and their two adopted Vietnamese daughters, P'tit Lys and Emelia, in their home in the university town of Nancy.
