Fête de la Francophonie

The 2011 Fête de la Francophonie (French Heritage Festival) will feature the Mediterranean countries of: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Lebanon.

Mark your calendars for this all-day family-friendly event, held once again at Beatnik Studios, 2421 17th Street, Sacramento.

Cultural events during the afternoon will be followed by a couscous dinner and beverages, with music and dancing in the evening.

The Dunes is a North African fusion group, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, whose members hail from North Africa and Northern California. Singing in Arabic, Amazigh, French and English, The Dunes mix original compositions with Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian favorites and rarities. Songs of love and life, exile and hope, faith and transformation come alive in the Dunes’ slamming live set to get dancers dancing, thinkers thinking, and groovers grooving.
